I hope you will be able to find something in here that you can get out and do with family or friends this month.  December is such a hectic time and it is nice to be able to take just a little time for fun to help alleviate some of the stress of the season.

I believe that we live in one of the most wonderful communities in America with some of the nicest people in America.  We are so fortunate to have our giving, loving community.  With that being said, if you are able to help out with some of the charities that are raising money to help the less fortunate, please do.  There is nothing like the feeling of knowing you have made a difference someone’s life.  If you are looking for a charity to help, the Wyoming-Tribune Newspaper has a listing of all charities in the newspaper each day.

Thank you for reading the Legacy Property Solutions Blog.  I hope you are finding it useful.  If you have ideas of things that you would like for me to research and let you know about, shoot me an e-mail at jane@legacypropertysolutions.org.  If you have questions about property management or need the name of a good contractor, I would be happy to assist.

Until next week, stay happy and healthy!

It seems that summer has gone by very quickly and we are now looking at sending the kiddos back to school with all that entails. Soon it will be time for sweaters, pumpkins and cool days and nights. With that being said I wanted to give you some pointers on how to prepare your homes for the cold days ahead.

I believe Summer is just around the corner so I have put together a list of family friendly events that are taking place in our community in June.

It is finally March and hopefully spring is just around the corner! I wanted to give you some maintenance tips that will help keep your home running smoothly and prevent the maintenance man from having to visit your home. * Vacuum out air registers to remove dust and debris. * Clean your refrigerator coils to keep the refrigerator running properly. * Check the caulking around showers and bathtubs and call us to replace it if its cracking or peeling. * Check your homes crawlspace for water damage, animals or other foreign matter. * Change furnace filters. This should be done every 3 months. * Test carbon monoxide and smoke detectors to make sure they’re working correctly. Replace batteries or call the office to replace if necessary. * Vacuum the lint from the hose of your clothes dryer. * Test any GFCI outlets: plug in a lamp, hit the test button and then the reset button to see if it turns the light off and then on again.  GFCI stands for Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter. These types of outlets are designed to protect you from severe or fatal electric shocks. They’re often found in the kitchen and bathroom or any place near a water source. * Remove showerheads and clean them to remove any sediment buildup. * Check your dishwasher. Look for any signs of leaks under or around it. Check to see that the washer arm isn’t stuck by opening the dishwasher and spinning and lifting the washer arm. Maker sure the drain hose arcs up to prevent backwash from the drain into your dishwasher. With just a few preventative measures you can keep your home problem free. Have a great March. As always I hope you stay happy and healthy! Jane
